Anodizing is an electrolytic treatment to which aluminum is subjected to provide a surface resistant to wear and corrosion. By means of this treatment a hard and protective layer of aluminum oxide is formed that will not come off since it is part of the metal itself. To maximize the life of anodized aluminum, it is convenient to know some guidelines for use, cleaning and maintenance.
Remove adhesives before use. These vinyls are easy to remove without using knives or sharp objects that can scratch the surfaces. If adhesive remains, these can be removed with a cloth or paper soaked in alcohol. Wash the piece with warm water, neutral dish soap and a sponge or soft cloth. This will remove the remains of oils and lubricants used in the manufacturing process. After each use, wash the piece with neutral soap and warm water, using a sponge or soft cloth. Rinse with water and dry each piece to avoid the appearance of lime stains after washing. If any food adheres, do not use scrapers, sharp utensils, brushes or metal sponges that can scratch the surface. Pour warm water inside and dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda, let stand a few minutes at rest, until the remains begin to peel off. Then lather and rinse as usual.
