Using Chilean traditions and nature as an inspiration, Calypso Chile was created in 1996. A collaboration of glass artisans, Calypso pays special attention to sustainability in their creations. Using window glass and recycled bottles, picked up and cared for by trash collectors in Santiago, each piece combines these materials in a beautiful way. The glass sheets are cut to size, painted by hand, then fired in the ovens at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. This combination of painting and firing brings out amazing textures and colors, making every piece a work of art.
