The artisans of the Kisii tribe in Kenya have been carving for centuries. Often times, they are trying to sell their artistry at local markets, with unpredictable results. Through this fair trade organization, they now have stability in their income and feel empowered through earning fair wages and can grown their earning potential through the additional marketing opportunities for their carvings outside of Kenya. The cooperative also designates 15% of their income to help orphans, widows, handicapped, elderly, and HIV/AIDS victims in the community.
