The Tayga owes its name to the largest forest area on earth where conifers and pine trees can barely survive despite the cold. It is so cold and remote that hardly any people live here. One of the last regions in the world where there is true wildlife. Because of the icy storms in this area, the landscape looks different every time. So does your Tayga. The dial is made of real, white marble: an exclusive type of stone with its characteristic stone veins. Therefore no Tayga is the same. The case and strap are made of beautiful, smooth olive wood and this also makes every Tayga unique. With this watch you wear a beautiful and exclusive piece of nature around your wrist! And despite the stone dial, this watch weighs nearly nothing!
The wood of this wooden watch is hand treated with tung oil. This natural oil is extracted from the seeds of the tung tree and this treatment makes the watch splash proof. However, wood remains a fragile natural product, so avoid contact with extreme cold, heat or moisture at all times. The beauty of wood is that it 'lives'. It can change color slightly the more you wear your watch. In order to keep the wood beautiful, we recommend that you lubricate your watch once a year with an equal mixture of lemon juice and olive oil. Gently pat the mixture onto the wood and then polish it with a dry, clean cloth. But, in most cases this is not necessary since the wood will remain hydrated by the oils of your skin.
