Rarely do you find a dish that can go from oven to table and look amazing at the same time. Pomaire is one of those dishes! The nature of the earthenware holds heat and gives your dish a nice cozy feel. It's perfect for ladling in soup and chili, but also fantastic for baking apples or small peach cobblers. Want to make personalized mac & cheese dishes? Again, these are perfect! Spoon in your uncooked mac & cheese into each dish, add your toppings of choice, like bacon or pulled pork, green onion, parmesan, or jalapeno and bake like normal.
Pomaire pots can be used in the freezer, oven, microwave, or on stove tops that are gas flame. Please cure before the first use either by boiling milk in the vessel or by using butter. Simply rub inside and outside surface lightly with butter, put in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes, then turn oven off, letting the dish slowly return to room temperature. Due to Pomaire's porous nature, please do not take directly from fridge to microwave.
Daniel Pozo is a master in the art of clay bakeware, Pomaire, that his village has become internationally known for. His wife, children, and son-in-law all work in the family business. Each member focuses on one step of the process to make sure they produce only the finest quality pottery. Each piece is thrown on the wheel, dried, polished by rubbing the entire surface with a smooth rock, then fired.
