Product Description

Add some beauty to your tabletop with a colorful trivet. Made from silk sari scraps that are hand coiled around cotton cord, this trivet will be the envy of all the girls!

The village of Sertung, Nepal, sits two days walk from any road. Primarily a traditional farming community, their remote location makes any source of supplemental income as they are waiting for the harvest incredibly difficult. Adding to the stress, they were one of the many villages heavily damaged during the earthquake that struck Nepal in April 2015. With no electricity, and limited tools available, they buy scrap sari fabric (which is carried on their backs for the two day walk home) that they weave, braid, or wrap to create beautiful crafts.

  • Made by hand in Nepal
  • 8" diameter
  • Recycled sari scraps wrapped around cotton rope
  • Due to the handcrafted nature of this product, colors vary.
