It makes a perfect choice for anyone who wants a multi piece nativity set, but doesn't have a ton of storage.
Tin art in Guanajuato dates back to the Spanish colonial era. Artisans begin with simple sheets of tin. Piece by piece they cut, pound, and hand paint with enamel until that sheet metal is slowly transformed into pieces of art. As is the case with most progressing countries, Mexican artisans produce their craft from the ingredients found in their natural surroundings: the clay from the earth for ceramic pineapples and cocuchas, they use natural pigments extracted from plants and insects for dyeing woven purses and rugs, the wood from the copal trees for the carving of whimsical alebrijes, etc. The pieces created by the artisans in their family workshops use techniques passed on sometimes for hundreds of years from generation to generation; the most common tool used is the artisan's skilled and dedicated hands. It takes days and sometimes weeks to finish each piece, making every one an individual work of art.
