Product Description

Bring a touch of the woodsy outdoors into your home decor. This elegant owl in flight  is sitting gently on a piece of parasite wood! Parasite wood is a parasitic plant that grows on a host tree. It feeds off the tree’s sap and is so strong that even when it’s host is dead this plant doesn’t decay. The unique structures sometimes called “wood roses” are the result of a parasitic mistletoe plant that grows on trees in Bali, commonly the chinaberry tree. Plants are collected by artisans who create wonderful carvings.

The artistry in Bali is legendary. Thousands of small family based cottage industries use their skills to make stunning works of art. Using sustainably harvested wood, such as bamboo, or recycled metal, the carvers put their own individuality into every piece.

  • Made by hand on the island of Bali
  • Hand carved parasite wood
  • Varnished finish
  • Measures approximately 4" wide x 3" tall
  • Due to the hand crafted nature of this item, every piece will have some subtle differences, making each one unique. Comes in 2 pieces. Owl slides into holes in the parasite wood.
