We all have that favorite pair of earrings. The ones that are just a little different with a fun story to tell. These fabulous earrings will become that favorite pair. They feature a cabochon of Fordite. Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, was formed in the auto plants of Michigan. As cars were hand sprayed and baked, layers of enamel paint built up on the tracks and skids. As the process was repeated thousands of times, the deposits grew to be several inches thick. Each piece of Fordite is unique as the colors vary depending on the cars painted on that specific line, making every pair of earrings a one of a kind. They make a wonderful gift celebrating the history of the automotive industry.
