In Bogota, Colombia, in 1994, husband and wife Juan Carlos Bohorquez and artist Liliana Otalora founded a company with a different product and focus. Together they design and produce colorful, whimsical clocks, Christmas nativities and ornaments made primarily from recycled metal scrap used in the production process by various industries. Liliana hires and trains individuals in need of employment to produce and hand paint each piece to her standards. They also learn soldering, assembly and ornamentation. Because each piece is painted by hand, there may be slight variations making each piece unique.
