Product Description

Bring color and the rich history of India into your home decor! Perfect to set on the back of a sofa or at the foot of your bed, this will soon become your favorite throw on those chilly evenings.

Kantha is an artistry that the people of West Bengal, India are well known for. Multiple pieces of antique cotton sari fabric are layered together, and then hand sewn with broad stitches that give these blankets their characteristic texture. The vintage fabric comes from misprints, selvedge, or even damaged fabrics that were rejected due to imperfections. The crafters skills of reviving and recycling these imperfections is what turns each piece into a unique and one of the kind collectors piece. Since the fabric is all vintage, it's possible to find patches, sewn over holes, and other irregularities in these quilts, leading to their individuality and rich history.
