We all need to remind ourselves to take a moment and simply Dream. This charming piece can be placed on a shelf, dresser, desk, or end table for just that purpose. Carved from one piece of soapstone, the weight will keep the sculpture solidly in place, making it a perfect paperweight as well.
Hand carved out of soapstone by the Kisii tribe in Kenya, each piece is sanded to a silky smoothness. The artisans feel empowered through earning fair wages and can grown their earning potential through the additional marketing opportunities for their carvings outside of Kenya. The cooperative also designates 15% of their income to help orphans, widows, handicapped, elderly, and HIV/AIDS victims in the community. Because each piece is carved by hand, each one will have a uniqueness in stone shading and carving detail.
