Woodblock printing is an ancient Nepalese art form. Ganesh Himal Trading has partnered with Ram Shekhar, a very small business, in an effort to preserve this incredible craft. The earthquake of 2015 damaged Ram's home to the point of being unlivable. He moved to the tents set up for those displaced, but soon found himself in flooded conditions, not suitable for working or even living. Ganesh Himal not only offered the security of stable income, but provided him the extra money needed to pay rent in a safe area until he has the money and time to rebuild his home. In the meantime, Ram continues is artistry, personally carving each and every wood block, and stamping each design.
