Glass mosaic kitchen trivet from Lebanon measuring approximately 6" square. Blessed School was opened in 1868 as the first school for the blind in Lebanon. They have now extended their reach to include students with physical and emotional limitations. Many have had periods where they have lived on the street or been abused emotionally, physically, or sexually. All just need someone to show them love. In addition to an education, the students at Blessed run a bakery and make crafts. They earn pocket money to help their life be a little easier. These trivets start as pieces of wood. The pattern is drawn on top so the students know what they're making. There is no color requirement, however, so each piece of glass is hand chosen by the student making each one a masterpiece of its own.
